UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik Picks
Updated: Sep 8, 2020
After going an impressive 0-1-2 last week I think I am well on my way to being the next big MMA gambling guru.... or a shitposter on YouTube who has 20-20 hindsight. At this point I can't really tell but maybe when the hindsight kicks in I will know. In all fairness, Holland was going to win that fight. It will be interesting to see how he deals with 2 weight cuts in 2 weeks in his upcoming bout this weekend.
Striking Breakdown:
Exempted fights with fighters who have no UFC data
Who I like this weekend:
Derrick Lewis -200
The Black Beast lands far less on average than Oleinik however since losing to Junior Dos Santos Lewis has been trimming up and working on his conditioning.(Or "working on his fitness", as Fergie would say) A new, better conditioned, Lewis will be able to keep a higher pace throughout the fight. Plus the ability to have one punch knockout power in later rounds never hurts.
Wellington Turman -162
Both fighters have not fought since 2019 and will be looking to win by a method other than a Unanimous Decision. I like Turman because he is the younger and is coming off of a win.
Beneil Dariush -177
Another lower volume striker when compared to his opponent. That being said, he also absorbs a lot less strikes on average.
Tim Means +114
Both fighters are coming off losses and I am siding on Means's experience.
