Thursday Night Football Preview: Dolphins @ Jaguars
Do you remember a few years ago when the NFL ran that ad campaign where everyone was like, "Can you believe we have this game on Thursday?" How they were trying to insinuate that the NFL was done putting weak matchups out on Thursday nights? They should probably go back to that model. Granted nothing gets me more pumped than the idea of watching the inconsistent Jaguars hosting the garbage-time Dolphins, I feel like the NFL could do a little better here.
Breakdown of 2020 defense against the pass:
Things I like tonight:
Miami has scored almost 60% of their 2020 points in the fourth quarter - if that is not the definition of garbage time then I don't know what is. I expect Jacksonville to go out in front and hold the lead from there.
Mike Gesicki > 4.5 receptions (-108)
Gesicki seems to be Fitzpatrick's new favorite target after last week. The Jacksonville pass defense is relatively weak so I expect receivers to be open often.
Laviska Shenault Jr. > 66 receiving yards (+128)
With DJ Chark out the Jaguars will need a new threat to target. Shenault Jr. is averaging 12 yards per reception and could serve as the Jaguars deep threat.
