Preview: UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs. Hill
You know that feeling as a kid when your dad tells you that you are going to Toys 'R Us (RIP) but instead you ended up walking around Home Depot for 4 hours? That is how this card feels. We were supposed to get a match that would more than likely determine the number one contender in the light heavyweight division. Instead, the headliner we have would probably carry a prelim in any other circumstance. We were supposed to look at Big Wheels, now we are watching a grown man haggle over cabinet pricing.
Breakdown of the upcoming card:
Fighters I like this weekend:
Billy Quarantillo (-260)
Quarantillo's opponent Kyle Nelson looked really impressive in his last performance. That being said, Quarantillo is a monster in the grappling department and I think that will be the deciding factor here.
Bobby Green (-250)
Green's opponent Alan Patrick has not fought in almost 2 years. In his last bout, Patrick lost by KO after appearing to lose his composure early in the fight. Green is a good balanced fighter who I believe can replicate the same results against Patrick.
Sijara Eubanks (+240)
The women's divisions are a lot more unpredictable than the men's in my opinion. Both of the women in this fight have really good boxing and at +240, it doesn't hurt to take a chance on the more experienced Eubanks.
Brok Weaver (+180)
This should be fight of the night. Both of these men seem to prefer the stand up and Weaver should be able to use his height advantage to out-strike his opponent.
Andrea Lee is a (-355) favorite against Roxanne Modafferi this weekend. While Lee should walk away victorious, she is coming off of 2 straight split decision losses. Modafferi is a wild, unorthodox fighter that can definitely steal another decision from Lee.
