Monday Night Football: Tampa Bay @ New York
The obvious question needs to be asked here: who is scheduling these games? Its bad enough we had to watch the Cowboys and Eagles on Sunday night while the Ravens and Steelers had to compete with other games but now the NFL is subjecting us to another New York team in a primetime spot. Is there some delusional NFC East fan at the NFL offices looking at the schedule going, "Oh yeah, this one is going to be a banger?" No clue. But I digress.
I plugged NFL scoring data into a simple linear model and compared the predicted scores against what actually happened for both teams tonight, the results are below:
The model has been accurate for 3 of the Giant's games this season. The issue with the model is the Buccaneers who seem to be all over the place in scoring. That being said, with the cold weather and high wind expected in New York tonight, I like the under.
